Fishing with Words at Yalong Beach

(Report on a nighttime meeting
of two scientists from different cultures
and different genders with fireworks and
miracles on a beach in Southern China)

Gentle breeze on waiting skin
(yet paradise does not have sin),
salty jeans and sandy silk,
fireworks and cocomilk,
under-water dragon caves,
and bright night skies o'er white night waves.

No moon, no stars, no lamp, no flame,
yet fairy tales and rhyming game
(the shortest poem is a name).
And eyes and sparks of novelty,
romantic science and poetry
where joyful sands meet wise old sea.
